The Ponoka Stampede is kicking off today (June 25), with midway rides, entertainment, and rodeo action.
The rodeo features events such as chuckwagon racing, bareback riding, saddle bronc, team roping, ladies barrel racing, bull riding, steer wrestling, and more.
To get the seven-day event started, Rocker Steiner is riding the award-winning bareback horse, F13 Virgil.
There will be in-field entertainment from John Payne, The One Arm Bandit, and a horse-riding professional showing off his skills.
After the rodeo, there’s a music performance featuring Gord Bamford. His show is part of the Kubota stage performance that will include recording a music video.
Brayden King will also be performing in the Ponoka Stampede Showdown Dance Hall.
The rodeo wraps up on Monday, July 1.
