School is out and summer is here which means it’s officially Canada Day weekend and there’s lots going on in the Southeast!
Check out events you can attend and what they offer:
Vita is known for their incredible 2-day celebration for Canada Day. The fun will begin on Sunday, June 30 at 100 School Ave in Vita. Gates open at 9am with many activities throughout the day. Vita's Strongest and the firework show has been moved to Sunday.
Come back for day two on July 1, starting the day off with a pancake breakfast from 7am to 9am. Gates open at 8am followed by their annual slopitch tournament and parade at 9am. Food vendors and activities will be available all day with live music in the evening.
Wristbands are required for admission and cost $20 at the gate. 5 and under are free.
Marchand is hosting a Canada Day celebration at the Community Park starting at 11am. The free admission event includes a cornhole tournament, bouncy castles, face painting, tractor train, 3 leg race, and fireworks.
Make sure to pre-register for the cornhole tournament!
The Mennonite Heritage Village is having a free admission day for a Canada Day celebration. The museum will be open from 9am to 5pm on July 1 and have activities throughout the day.
They will begin with a flag raising ceremony followed by wagon rides, guided tours, barrel-train rides, kid’s activities, and more. Enjoy some candy from the booth, homemade waffles, or a Mennonite meal from the Livery Barn Restaurant.
Canada Day at Steinbach Soccer Field:
Evening activities on July 1 at the Steinbach Soccer Park will begin at 5pm. They will have a DJ, free cupcakes, and fireworks around 10:45pm.
Head down to the Emerson Pool and Park for their annual Canada celebration on July 1 beginning at 8:30am with a pancake breakfast. Slopitch tournament start times is TBD with activities to follow. Cornhole, kid’s games, live music, free swimming, fireworks, and more!
On July 2, Emerson Golf Course will have free family golf and lunch!
Join Richer at the Dawson Trail Park on July 1 for a day full of free activities. Cake, face painting, hayrides, and so much more! The day begins at 8:30am with a Teepee Raising demonstration and ending with fireworks at 11pm.
