Corner 2 Corner Cleaning & Restoration is putting on an event that is sure to impress.
Kelly Wiebe, the office manager at Corner 2 Corner for the past 3 years, is excited about a full line-up of activities to mark 20 years of partnering with the community for cleaning and restoration projects.
“Boy, there’s a lot.”
Wiebe says that the festivities in Winkler on July 6th will begin with free swimming from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Families are also invited to bouncy castles, a petting zoo, and face painting.
For those who work up an appetite during the day, there will be a selection of 7 different food trucks, Wiebe says.
The fun does not stop there. In the evening at 7 p.m., comedian Matt Falk takes the stage followed by music from Catie St. Germain.
Matt Falk, based out of Winnipeg, has performed at the Halifax Comedy Festival, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. Falk also has millions of views on his Dry Bar Comedy specials online.
The music portion of the evening features Catie St. Germain, a Niverville singer-songwriter who is quickly gaining popularity in the country music world. St. Germain released her first song in 2023 and has already received 5 Manitoba Country Music Association (MCMA) awards since then. She is the granddaughter of Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame legend Ray St. Germain.
The performance line-up will happen rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the live entertainment moves to P.W. Enns Centennial Concert Hall in Winkler.
The celebration is Corner 2 Corner’s way of showing appreciation. Wiebe says that without the community, the company would not have reached 20 years.
“We just from the bottom of our hearts are so thankful for the support. You know, in these smaller communities, it's sometimes not as easy to get your name out there, but the support has just been so amazing, so we're truly so thankful.”
In the spirit of supporting local organizations, Wiebe says Corner 2 Corner will give back during their anniversary celebration with a merchandise table. Proceeds from the table will go to Eden Mental Health Centre and Gateway Resources.
“If anybody wants to drop off donations to them, we’ll have a table there [for that] as well,” adds Wiebe.
Corner 2 Corner’s celebration marks two decades of offering a variety of services out of Winkler.
“I think a lot of people think we're just cleaners, but a big part of our company is restoration work,” says Wiebe. “If you find water in your basement, we go and we help do the clean-out, extract water, and all the remediation as well.”
The company’s full range of services is carpet cleaning, air duct cleaning, flood & fire restoration, and commercial janitorial services.
Wiebe invites the community to join Corner 2 Corner to celebrate.
"[We] hope to see everyone there and that everybody [has] a good time. That's our main goal.”
