Christian artist, Jessica Duke, from Grande Prairie, has released a new song titled, "Home."
Born in Langley, BC, and raised in a Reformed Church, Jessica moved to Grande Prairie about ten years ago and has been integrating into the local Baptist community. Her faith has grown significantly since her childhood, evolving from something she followed because of her parents into a deeply personal journey.
"Faith has definitely grown a lot since I've gotten older," Jessica shared. "At the beginning, it's kind of your parents' faith, but it's really grown into something that's my own."
Jessica's musical background includes piano lessons and a passion for singing since she was young. Inspired by her older sisters, she learned to play guitar and ukulele and has been writing music since she was 12.
Her first release, "Home," was inspired by a friend's act of kindness in a difficult family situation. The song emphasizes finding a safe place and home in God, even in a broken world. Recorded in a home studio in her parents' basement and produced by her husband Emery, "Home" is available on major streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
