Manitoba Stampede
Categories

It was the first great day of the stampede today, with a weekend of excitement still ahead.

President of the Valley Agricultural Society, Brian Wiebe says how happy he was for the opening day turnout. They are expected to have around 40,000 people on the grounds in Morris throughout the whole weekend, which he highlights is a big success.

“We have seen progressive growth over the last few years for the stampede, and this is a huge event for our community and the surrounding areas. We're excited about the RCMP musical ride being here which makes us different from the other events.”

Wiebe notes that they have partnered with the Manitoba Country Music Association this year, so all the performers throughout the weekend will be Manitoba artists for everyone to enjoy. He comments on how many events are going on throughout the weekend.

“We have something for the entire family here. We have a big exhibition site with events like mounted shooting, chore farm events, and all the big shows in the rodeo ring. Also here is the gathering of nations to share music and dancing.”

Wiebe mentions that the volunteers played a powerful role in setting up the event. He says it is a massive endeavor, but the group that helps is great and it’s all worth it to see everyone having fun.

Project Patio was at the event, check out some of the pictures from day one.
