The Mobile Stage Company, a burgeoning enterprise based out of Austin, Manitoba, has been making waves since its inception in 2018. The story of this unique company began with a simple phone call. One evening, Ed Heppner called up his friend Kelvin Bueckert, inviting him over for a visit. What started as a casual get-together quickly turned into an evening of dreaming and planning that laid the groundwork for The Mobile Stage Co.
Driven by a shared passion for bringing joy and celebration to community settings, Ed and Kelvin embarked on the journey of building mobile stages. Their vision was clear: to create platforms that could travel to various locations, facilitating events that foster community spirit and happiness. In 2019, the stage was built with generous donations from the community and by Bill Riemer of Squirrel Creek Trailers as part of planned events for Manitoba 150. These events didn’t turn out quite as planned due to COVID-19 lockdowns, but a stage had been built, and it was put to use for various outdoor events. Thus, The Mobile Stage Company was born — a business dedicated to the mission of enhancing community gatherings with accessible, high-quality stages. Alongside their passionate friend Paul Hoeppner, Kelvin and Ed’s stage continues to be used for the benefit of the community. You can watch the stage being set up and a highlight reel of events here.
In a significant event this Sunday, The Mobile Stage Company will be offering a free community worship service at the Manitoba Thresherman's Reunion and Stampede at the Stride Credit Union Arena on The Threshing Floor. The doors open at 10:30 a.m. for the service that features the talented artist Nathan Keys leading the worship. The event promises to be a heartfelt celebration, embracing the spirit of genuine worship and inclusivity.
"We believe that unity in community is a powerful thing, and that people should be able to come together to celebrate truth and life." says Paul Hoeppner. "Our mobile stages are designed to bring people together, regardless of where they are, and create memorable experiences."
The worship service is open to everyone, reflecting The Mobile Stage Company's commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. Attendees can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere, filled with music, worship, and a sense of togetherness.
"Our goal is to facilitate communication and joy,” says Kelvin Bueckert. “We want to make it easy for communities to come together and celebrate, and our mobile stages are a means to that end."
The Mobile Stage Company continues to thrive, driven by the passion and dedication of its founders. As they bring their stages to different communities, they remain committed to their core mission: to spread joy and celebration through the power of community gatherings.
