Christian singer and songwriter Anne Wilson received some backlash following a recent performance.
While performing at the Faster Horses Festival, Wilson was asked to perform a duet alongside Jelly Roll.
Wilson was excited to follow through with this last-minute ask, posting her reaction video on social media.
"When Jelly Roll asks you last minute to sing with him and you say YES!!!!!" said Anne Wilson in a post on Instagram.
In the video, you can see Anne excited and running around preparing for this special performance.
"I had a dream this exact same thing happened," said Wilson in the video.
Wilson posted a snippet of the performance, and fans quickly reacted.
"I love you, Anne, but not this duo," said one fan. "Anne, you're my favourite singer but I need an explanation," said another.
Others jumped to her side supporting her decision.
"Wow! Keep your eyes up for you are a beautiful soul. Remember in the end times it is many in the church that are deceived," said a fan. "'Christians' coming against you can feel pretty hurtful, but it’s mainly ignorance. And ignorance is still sin. Blessings upon blessings to you living out your calling in life!"
Jelly Roll experienced plenty of trauma in his childhood, serving time in prison when he was just 14. He has since turned his life around, finding God along the way.
"God never called the equipped. God always equipped the call," he explained at the 2024 CMT Music Awards. "I think that I am a living manifestation of that."
He now calls himself 'God's least likely messenger.'
Anne will finish her summer performing at some festivals before heading out on her Rebel Tour this fall.
