A fundraiser has been set up to support Autumn Nelon Streetman after her mother, stepfather and sister died in a plane crash Friday afternoon.
The Nelon family was on their way to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska when the incident happened.
The crash also claimed the lives of Nathan Kistler, their assistant, Melodi Hodges, pilot, Larry Haynie and his wife, Melissa.
The fundraiser was set up by Autumn's uncle, Todd Nelon, in hopes of helping ease the burden she faces in the journey ahead of her.
"Our heart-wrenching grief is overwhelming, and we are just struggling to take our next breath. We appreciate all the calls, texts, food, and mostly the prayers," said Todd in a post on Facebook. "We humbly come to you now to ask for help for our precious Autumn. We are surrounding her with love, but she’s going to need financial assistance for the many mountainous tasks ahead. She has not only lost her family, but also her livelihood. In addition to the funeral costs, she also will be responsible for running the wedding venue, farm, and two homes."
Todd says his job now is to protect Autumn, who he says is like a daughter to him.
"We will get through. We are strong. Our faith is strong. We know where all those guys are. We don't have a doubt. We know we'll see them again," said Todd.
