A busy and fun weekend in Steinbach as Pioneer Days goes on. The weekend is filled with lots of activities, and many have decided to spend it at the Mennonite Heritage Village (MHV).
Robert Goertzen, Interim Executive Director and Program Manager at MHV says it’s been a busy weekend at MHV, and luckily the weather has been great!
“Our Saturday was spectacular. We enjoyed the breeze and the sunshine. We had people all over the grounds watching the demonstrations, coming to hear the entertainment, enjoying the atmosphere and the heritage buildings and learning a little bit.”
There’s lots going on at the museum grounds including demonstrations, live music, a horse show, kid's activities, and of course, food!
“We were also featuring the film ‘Where the Cotton Woods Grow’ and the room was full as we saw chapter one of that movie. It’s been a great weekend,” says Goertzen.
He says the museum will be open on Monday from 9am to 5pm on Monday, August 5 with more activities.
“We’ve got wonderful entertainment and lots of food here. Lots of things for the whole family, it’s going to be a wonderful day!”
When you see the Wendy’s Show Us Your Summer Jeep at different events, take a selfie with it and scan the QR code on the Jeep to submit it. All it takes is one photo for a chance to win a weekly prize OR a Golden Ticket.
The Golden Ticket gives you the chance to be at the draw on August 29 at the Clearspring Centre for the Shedtacular giveaway!
Later in the evening, games, a dance party, and fireworks were held at the Steinbach Soccer Park to make up for the cancellation on Canada Day due to weather.
Many people came out to enjoy some mini donuts while having fun with the family.
The kids enjoyed the bouncy castles, face painting, soccer games, Gellyball, the park, and more!
