A Manitoba man accused of stealing over $10,000 in sound equipment from a church is still behind bars after being arrested on Monday.

The Brandon Police Service says that on March 30 a local church was broken into and music and sound equipment was stolen. On Monday, September 2 police arrested a 34-year-old male after DNA evidence linked the man to the crime, the BPS alleges.

The suspect appeared in court on Tuesday, where he was denied bail by a judge who agreed with prosecutors that the man would be likely to re-offend while out on bail.

International Gospel Christian Ministries Church on 8th Street in Brandon says on social media that it reaches out to people in Brandon with street evangelism, deliverance prayer, and feeding the homeless every Sunday.
