Nurses and healthcare workers are invited to come to a breakfast for prayer, fellowship, and encouragement.
Nurses Christian Fellowship Canada has been around since 1942 in Canada. Susan Popkes is the Manitoba representative for Nurses Fellowship Canada and has been involved since 1989.
"The goal is to encourage and support nurses in their job," Popkes says. "Also to encourage them through prayer, fellowship and teaching."
Popkes says it's important as "Nurses often see things that are difficult. We try to come alongside and support them in their faith."
While the organization is called Nurses Christian Fellowship Canada, she says that there are more than just nurses. "We have occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and nurses."
The prayer breakfast is on Saturday, September 7 at 10 a.m. at 110-415 Edison Avenue in Winnipeg. Virtual participation is also available over Zoom.
