Rocky View County has announced that they have appointed Reegan McCullough as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
McCullough was announced as the new CAO during the September 10 council meeting. His first day on the job is October 1.
According to a news release from the county, the decision is a significant step in the county's community-driven progress.
"After a thorough selection process, it was apparent that Mr. McCullough’s vision and experience align perfectly with our strategic goals," said Reeve Crystal Kissel. "His leadership will be crucial as we continue to enhance our services, manage growth responsibly, and maintain the high quality of life our residents have grown to expect."
McCullough said that he is honoured to serve as the new CAO of the county, with his immediate focus being on strengthening relationships with stakeholders and implementing innovative approaches to managing growth.
The new CAO has a background in public and private sector management, and he previously served as the CAO of Sturgeon County and CEO of the Niagara Parks Commission. He has experience in rural development, infrastructure management, and strategic planning.
McCullough will replace Byron Riemann, who has served as acting CAO since August 2023. Riemann himself replaced Dorian Wandzura, who was terminated from the position by Rocky View County council who didn't state a cause.
