True North's annual gala will return to Strathmore to help raise funds to combat domestic violence.

The gala will take place on November 2 at the Legacy Farm Historical Granary between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. with the theme being the "roaring 20s".

Guests are invited to dress up in the spirit of the 1920s as True North celebrates its impact on the community while generating funds for ongoing programs.

"We're really thrilled just for the awareness that the event brings to the region," said Taura Fox Walker, manager of engagement and partnerships with True North. "Funds raised will support essential services that directly benefit those that reach out to the organization."

According to Fox Walker, the event will highlight True North's core values while attendees learn about the services that the organization provides, from a 24/7 crisis support line to an emergency shelter.

"It's important that our communities come together and show our support for these individuals that are walking among us that many of us will never know have access to these supports to move to a stronger, healthier life," added Fox Walker.

True North was formed in 1992 as the Wheatland Crisis Society and helps serve all genders.

Tickets for the gala are available on the True North Society's website.
