While the Josh Reimer and Jeffrey Klassen are no strangers to the local music scene, their latest musical endeavor, an album titled "What's Inside" marks an exciting new chapter in their evolving sound.
Despite their established presence in the Pembina Valley, Josh emphasized that "What’s Inside" represents a fresh direction for the band. “Even though we’ve been part of the local scene for years, this album is something entirely new for us. We’ve pushed our boundaries and incorporated a mix of alternative rock and electronic influences that we haven’t explored before,” Josh explained.
Jeffrey Klassen, the band's guitarist and co-producer of the album, echoed Josh’s sentiments. “This project is a big step forward for us. We’ve experimented with different sounds and styles, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see how it’s been received. ‘What’s Inside’ really represents a new phase in our creative journey,” he said.
One standout track from the album, “Roads We Take,” is a nod to the past, having been written when Jeffrey was a teenager. “It’s interesting to revisit an old song and see how it fits into our current sound,” Jeffrey noted. “We were inspired by bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Neil Young back then, and it’s amazing to see how those influences have evolved into what we’re doing now.”
The current lineup for Ezrah Stone features Josh Reimer on vocals, Jeffrey Klassen on guitar, Yuri Patserniuk on keys, Tyler Martens on drums, and Darcy Bergman on backup vocals. Notably, the album also includes contributions from renowned bassist Leland Sklar, known for his work with major artists like Carlos Santana and Cher. “Having Leland on the album was a huge boost for us,” Jeffrey shared. “His experience and talent added a new layer to our music that we’re really excited about.”
The release of "What’s Inside" comes amid a flourishing music scene in the Pembina Valley, a region that has become a vibrant hub for both emerging and established artists.
The album is now available for streaming on all major platforms, with physical copies set to follow in the coming months. Fans can stay updated on tour dates and other news through the band’s social media channels.
