Landon Miller is the new owner-operator of Speedy Glass in Kindersley. He is also a Red Seal journeyman who’s been installing windshields for 18 years. It’s a combination of freshness and experience customers can expect to receive at his shop, located at 1007 Main St.
“I take a lot of pride in the work I do,” he says. “I know that people spend a lot of money on their vehicles, and I make sure their vehicle comes out with the same quality as when they got it.”
Miller points out that his career has mostly coincided with rapid technological developments that continue to impact glass installations and repairs. He sees it as an advantage – another way he can leverage that combination of new and experienced.
“We have the same technology as the dealerships to get back to factory standard,” he explains. “It doesn’t matter the make or model. We can do domestic; we can do foreign. We have that technology straight from the dealerships.”
And, as an added bonus, Speedy Glass direct bills to most Canadian insurance providers, whether for individual operators or fleets. This can be especially helpful when it comes to windshield repair, as the vehicle owner will expect to get right back on the road.
To that end, Miller says his stone repair technology is state of the art.
“It’s the highest level. It’s a series of suction and pressure to make sure we get all the air out of those cracks, as well as the moisture and contamination,” he says. “Then we pump in our resin and UV cure it. This procedure returns the structure of windshield necessary to protect yourself and your vehicle.”
Safety at Speedy Glass is paramount. With the windshield being an integral part of a vehicle’s structural integrity, Miller says quality installation helps mitigate risk during accidents such as rollovers.
As to the windshields themselves, Speedy Glass has access to factory OEM units, and then there are the OEE versions that are the same as the factory but don’t include logos. Beyond windshields, Speedy Glass can look after any piece of vehicle glass, from sunroofs to back windows and on everything from small cars to semi tractors.
“As long as it’s got glass in it, we can change it,” Miller says.
Customers can be confident it will be a quality replacement. The parent company of Speedy Glass holds worldwide windshield replacement competitions, and in each of the last three years Miller has advanced to the regional competition. In other words, he is one of the top four installers across the prairie provinces.
Even though Miller has 18 years’ experience in the industry, the most experienced windshield installer in his shop is Rick, with his 45 years, and rounding out the staff is Nick, who brings eight years of experience.
“The changes in vehicles the last 10 years is just phenomenal,” says Miller. “I can make sure your vehicle’s glass is safe and back to factory standards. That’s what I bring to the table.”
