Prairie producers are always on the lookout for technologies that will help improve yields. But those advanced input and protection strategies will also produce heavier residue crops. Farmers need more aggressive harrows to break up that straw and improve material distribution.

They need the new Soilstar SHX-784 Seven Bar Variable Tine Harrow System from Schulte Industries.

“This heavy harrow has a variable tine technology in which the first three rows of tines are ⅝ inches and the last four rows are a ½ inch,” explains Mike Siroski, Saskatchewan and USA Territory Manager for Schulte. “It also features 540/45 22.5 floatation tires across the whole machine, active hydraulic field pressure and an in-cab Field Finish on Demand system.”

The SHX-784 is available in 60 and 84 ft. models and has a 12-by-12 ¼ inch wall tubing frame, and the 84 ft. weighs in dry at 27,000 lbs. Increased spacing among all seven rows of 28 inch tim promotes material flow as the harrow applies superior agitation to straw and topsoil.

“This product will really shine in heavy residue and lodged crops, anywhere the residue is pushed down the ground,” Siroski says. “It’s going to leave your field smoother and in better shape and more prepared for seeding in the spring.”

Schulte Industries, which manufactures its products in Englefeld SK, also produces disc harrows, rotary cutters, rock pickers, snow blowers and skid steer attachments. For more than 100 years, Schulte has been serving prairie farmers with well-manufactured products and continues to hold itself up to its original values of quality, service, value and trust.
