The city is sending out the progress of the Downtown Revitalization Project as some of the finishing work is coming into place.

In the report from ASL Paving, they laid out the most recent updates to their work around the 4th Street downtown.

Access and Traffic Accommodation:

Most sidewalks remain open, with the exception of those with work currently underway. For example, the 1100 block's north sidewalk is partially closed due to work there, with detours and fencing in place.

Back alleys are currently operating as two-way streets and may move to one-way as needed by construction.

Surfacing:

Asphalt has been removed on 98 per cent of the project's surface with aggregates being salvaged. The granular road structure on the 1200 block is beginning as curbs are set to go in place with final finishing for the base on the 1100 block is beginning shortly for asphalt installation.

Sanitary Sewer:

Replacement of mains and services has been completed, from the intersection of 11th Avenue and 4th Street nearing 13th Avenue and 4th Street.

Storm Sewers:

The main replacement is progressing as planned with installations past the 12th Avenue and 4th Street intersection, to a gas line on the 13th intersection. Permission from SaskEnergy has been secured for sanitary and wear mains while storm sewers are still pending.

Electrical:

The removal of light poles on the 1100 and 1200 block is completed with new light pole bases installed at the 11th Avenue intersection and conduits installed.

Curbing and Sidewalks:

Crews have commenced the pouring of curbing at the intersection of 11th Avenue and 4th Street moving westward down the block.

Landscaping and furnishings:

Use of the Stratavault and paving stones has commenced on the 1100 block.

Environmental Updates:

No issues or updates have been reported since the previous report.
