Production Details
Co-artistic directors Laura Kathleen-Turner and Marc Moir are thrilled to share this exciting adaptation of Treasure Island with new audiences. Known for their high-quality productions and compelling storytelling, Looking Glass Theatre’s Treasure Island delivers an unforgettable experience filled with live music, sword-fighting pirates, and plenty of humour for all ages.
“Whether you’re a kid, a teen, or a senior, this show has something for everyone,” says Moir. “Our actors are incredibly versatile—many of them play multiple instruments, so we’ve built this version of Treasure Island with live rock music, sea shanties, and a whole lot of fun!”
While the company is based in Steinbach, Kathleen-Turner explained that touring productions like Treasure Island are an important part of their mission. “We want to bring professional live theatre to communities like Morden, who might not get it as often,” she says. “Live theatre is a shared community experience, and no two performances are ever the same. That’s the magic of it.”
Moir adds why he believes this is a show that Morden audiences can’t afford to miss: “This production is a labour of love for all of us. We’ve put everything we have into it—from the music to the sword fights and the incredible cast. The energy we bring will translate directly to the audience. You’ll laugh, you’ll be on the edge of your seat, and you’ll leave with a smile. It’s the kind of night you don’t experience every day.”
