A months-long hunt for Astrid Schiller and her three children has come to an end.

It all started on June 16th when the 55 year-old arrived at the Boissevain Canada/U.S. Border crossing in the middle of the night with her kids, who had been reported missing from Ontario in December. Schiller was arrested by RCMP but soon released as a warrant for her arrest did not extend to Manitoba. The kids were taken into care at a home in Forest, Manitoba.

The next day, June 17th, it was reported to RCMP that the children were no longer in care and were missing. Police believed they were with their mother.

Then this past Wednesday, RCMP in Saskatchewan got information that Schiller and the kids were in Fort Qu'Appelle. Officers located her and arrested her on a Manitoba warrant for child abduction. Schiller was brought back to Brandon and remanded into custody.

The kids were placed back into care and are currently in the process of being reunited with family in Ontario.
