The Vintage Cruisers Car Club meets weekly in Portage la Prairie, offering the community a flashback to the past.
When visiting the club, you'll see collectable cars of all types, but some stand out more than others. Andre Seguin's beautiful 1944 Ford Business Coupe caught the eye of PortageOnline last week.
The vehicle, made before coloured TVs, microwaves and even the Breath-a-Lyzer, is rare to see on the streets in 2024.
Seguin, a resident of Portage, owns several other collectible vehicles and has been enjoying the hobby for a decade.
"I like to work on antique cars and restore them properly," he notes. "It's a fun hobby, but it's expensive. The parts are getting expensive for those old things."
Seguin enjoys the reaction of the people of Portage when he drives the unique-looking vehicle, as it gives them a new perspective on the cars of the past.
"When I drove down Saskatchewan Avenue, many people were waving at me and smiling. That was nice."
He adds that the vehicle was from a car show in Headingley, and when he saw it, he knew he had to have it.
