Rival Axe Throwing in Airdrie is more than just an axe-throwing venue – it’s a thriving community hub where fun, connection, and laughter come together. Founded by Joni Daley and later joined by her daughter Jena Storms, Rival was built on the vision of creating a welcoming space where families and friends could gather, relax, and reconnect.

“Our dream was to create a place where families could interact and have fun together,” shares Joni. “As we continue to grow, so does our love for the community. We’re always making changes, always growing in different ways to serve our community better”

For someone curious to give axe throwing a try for the first time, Rival ensures a seamless and fun experience. When you arrive, the friendly staff will welcome you and help get everything set up. From there, you'll meet your coach and start throwing. It's an activity that's accessible to everyone, regardless of physical ability or age.

Rival has also become a popular destination for corporate events and other large group events. “Everyone wants to try axe throwing, so a lot of companies book here for corporate team building or rent our space for special occasions like Christmas parties and fundraisers,” Jena says. And for those looking to bring the excitement directly to you, Rival’s mobile axe-throwing service is available for weddings, barbecues, and corporate events. As Joni shares, “We can bring the Rival experience to you!”

Yet, Rival offers so much more. The venue is alive all week long with activities like cornhole, darts, board games, and interactive arcade games. Families, friends, and colleagues can enjoy a variety of entertainment including live music, unique drinks, snacks, and a cozy patio featuring the warmth and relaxation of several fire pits. “There’s a neighbourhood pub vibe here, where

you can catch up with friends or spend time with your family trying new things together,” Jena adds. “For those looking for weekly outings, we have leagues for axe-throwing, cornhole, and darts – plus summer camps for youth!”

Having won the Community Attraction Award from the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce, Rival has cemented its place as a local favourite. Whether you’re looking for a memorable night out with friends, a fun family outing, or a corporate team event, Rival offers an unforgettable experience for all ages and skill levels.
