The Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery is bringing back their Noon Hour Slide Travel Series.

“It is programming from our educational department that is about travelling globally,” explained Violet Tang, operations manager.

“Each week on Wednesday for noon time, we will have a presenter to talk about a global location or country or region that they’ve travelled to.”

Travellers will share pictures, stories, and advice about their experiences, and attendees can either join in person at Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery Performing Arts Centre or virtually.

Those interested in the virtual option can find Zoom links to each of the presentations on the MJMAG website here

Upcoming presentations happening on Wednesdays from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. are as follows:

Oct. 16 – The Galapagos with Michelle Gallagher

Oct. 23 – Chengdu, China with Violet Tang

Oct. 30 – The Venie Biennale 2019 with Violet Tang

Nov. 6 – Nature around San Franscisco with Karla and Chris Rasmussen

Nov. 12 – South Africa with Gayle Jones

Nov. 20 – Uzbekistan with Dave Wentworth (Virtually from Newfoundland)

Nov. 27 – Six Celtic Nations with Elaine Stutt

Michelle Gallagher said her presentation of The Galapagos will be focused on her trip with a friend last autumn. “We went on our first epic adventure together, and it was fabulous.”

She said wildlife was one of the most exciting parts of the bucket list trip, where she saw animals including a Galapagos giant tortoise, iguanas, flamingos, and blue-footed boobies.

Aside from the animals, scenery will also be a feature of her presentation. “It’s just gorgeous. There’s so many different islands, and each one of them had a different coloured sand beach."

Gallagher encourages people to take in the slides. “It’s a great way to be an armchair traveler and see sights that maybe you hadn’t thought of seeing before.”
