The Central Plains U15 Female Capitals are inviting area residents to a special event tonight at the BDO Arena, a charity game dedicated to raising funds for CancerCare Manitoba. The game, which starts at 7:15 p.m. against the Interlake Lightning, is more than just hockey; it’s about supporting a cause that touches many lives.
Team captain Hailey Terrrick of MacGregor says they are excited to do their small part for the cause.
"We all know someone affected by cancer, and this is our way of giving back. The event will include proceeds from gate admissions, a 50/50 draw, and a silent auction, with all funds going to support cancer care. Our program is not only about hockey but doing well in school and supporting the community when we can."
Cash donations will also be accepted throughout the night.
The Capitals have started the season strong, winning both of their opening games, and they are eager to play in front of a crowd that is not only supporting them but also a critical cause. The players encourage fans, friends, and family to come out and show their support tonight.
