The sale of what was once known as the Moose Jaw Lions Junior Band Hall is on the agenda for tonight’s city council meeting.
The building, located at 441 Fairford St. W., was most recently used by the city as the sports equipment library and storage for the city’s playground program and the engineering and facilities department.
The bid being recommended by city administration is to sell the property to R.L. McLauchlan Holdings Ltd for a bid amount of $241,050 plus GST.
Also on the agenda, city council will make a decision on a discretionary use application for 453 Lillooet St. W. to change the use of the building from a retail store to a one-unit dwelling.
The location has been operating as an electric appliance store, MS Technology Solutions Corp., since April of 2020. The applicant was told the city that they are unable to find another commercial tenant and would like to return the property to residential use.
Coun. Crystal Froese will be making a motion in regards to increasing funding for grid road maintenance, while Coun. Heather Eby will have a motion regarding downtown washroom facilities. Coun. Dawn Luhning will be a motion tonight to address traffic cameras.
Finally, city administration will answer an inquiry from Coun. Kim Robinson about the usage of the City of Moose Jaw’s Request for Service on the city’s app.
