Explore Morden Winkler's pizza week returns: November 4th to 9th
Pizza lovers, mark your calendars! The highly anticipated Pizza Week is returning to the Pembina Valley from November 4th to the 9th, courtesy of Explore Morden Winkler and KB Marketing. Karina Bueckert, from KB Marketing, shared the exciting details during a recent in-studio chat.
Pizza week's comeback
When asked why Pizza Week is making a return, Karina explained, "We've tried a few different food weeks like Burger Week and Poutine Week, but I'm excited to bring Pizza Week back." Pizza Week's return is designed to highlight the region's culinary diversity and encourage local food enthusiasts to explore new flavors.
Karina also noted how pizza allows for creativity. “Even Valley Bakery is in for Pizza Week," she shared, emphasizing how this event gives businesses the opportunity to showcase unique twists on this popular dish. From breakfast pizzas to classic pepperoni, the options are endless.
Still time to register
Pizza Week isn't just for the big players—local restaurants still have time to get involved. “We’re accepting registrations until the end of this week,” Karina mentioned, encouraging local businesses to participate. Restaurants interested in joining can reach out to Explore Morden Winkler or KB Marketing. “It’s $500 to participate, and we provide all the graphics, ads, and promotions,” she added.
A taste tester's dream
Karina shared her personal excitement for the event: “I’m going to try all of them. I don’t care how many people register, but I’m committed.” For local foodies, the event promises to be a treat, as participants will get to vote on their favorite pizzas via the Explore Winkler website. Winners will receive a framed certificate, marking their achievement.
Supporting local restaurants
More than just a fun event, Pizza Week is about supporting local businesses during a tough economic time. Karina highlighted the importance of helping small restaurants, saying, "The restaurant industry has such tight margins... if we can support them, I'd really like that."
Who's already in?
Several restaurants have already jumped on board, including Charlie B's, Dominos, Leparq Pizzeria, Mulligan's, and Valley Bakery. Karina extended an invitation to other local eateries still on the fence, urging, “Let’s go. I want everybody in. Whether you're a fan of traditional or creative pies, Pizza Week in the Pembina Valley promises something for everyone
