The Genesis House Unmask Domestic Violence Masquerade Gala is back for its fourth year, offering an evening of elegance and purpose. This year’s gala, taking place on November 2nd at the Minnewasta Golf and Country Club, promises to be a memorable celebration with a special theme—the Ruby Gala—in honor of Genesis House’s 40th anniversary.
A unique experience every year
Each year, the masquerade gala brings something new and exciting for guests. "The event is unique. It changes every year, and we’ve never been in the same venue twice," says Ang Braun, Executive Director of Genesis House. This year's ruby theme invites guests to dress their best, with a formal and festive atmosphere. Entertainment will include a performance by Flame Syndicate, continuing the tradition of bringing unique acts to the event.
Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner, featuring manicotti with a red sauce in line with the theme, followed by a choice of red velvet or cheesecake for dessert. With a cozy and intimate setting, the gala will also feature live performances, and an auction of exciting prizes generously donated by the community.
Supporting a vital cause
While the event is a night of celebration, its purpose is to raise critical funds for Genesis House. As Braun explains, "The $100 ticket price includes dinner, but the true value comes from supporting our ongoing work with families in need. This fundraiser helps ensure we can continue providing essential services."
The auction portion of the evening also plays a key role in raising funds. "The community is always fantastic about donating prizes, and we have some exciting items lined up this year," Braun adds. This support helps Genesis House provide critical services to those affected by domestic violence, including shelter, resources, and ongoing support.
Community makes it possible
Ang Braun emphasizes the importance of the community’s involvement, saying, "Without the incredible support from our community, we wouldn’t be able to do any of this. The care that Genesis House can provide is a direct result of the generosity and compassion we see year after year."
The masquerade gala is more than just an event; it’s a powerful opportunity to support a vital cause while enjoying a beautiful evening out. Tickets are nearly sold out, and are available through Eventbrite or by contacting Genesis House directly.
