Time is ticking, and we need your help to spotlight our community’s most deserving farmers. With Harvest Heroes right around the corner on November 13th at Smitty's Lounge, there’s still a chance to nominate a farmer who’s gone above and beyond to support our region. But we need more entries! Let’s come together to recognize the individuals who dedicate their lives to nurturing our land and growing the food we all rely on.

Why Nominate? Harvest Heroes celebrates farmers who not only excel in their work but also bring remarkable value to our community. By nominating, you’re giving someone who embodies the spirit of Pembina Valley’s farming community a moment in the spotlight—someone who leads, supports their peers, and is committed to sustainability and community welfare.

How to Nominate Your Harvest Hero Do you know a farmer who’s a true leader, innovator, or volunteer in the Pembina Valley? Nominate them now! Whether they’re making strides in sustainable farming, actively helping fellow farmers, or volunteering in the community, we want to hear their story. Every nomination is a step closer to ensuring their hard work and impact are recognized.

Nominate Today -- Fill out the nomination form and tell us why your chosen farmer deserves the title of Harvest Hero. Nominations close soon, and we’re counting on you to bring forward the stories that need to be heard.

Nominee Kelley Janzen: Ira Wiebe recently nominated Kelley Janzen as a Harvest Hero, sharing heartfelt reasons behind his choice. For 12 years, Janzen and his family have worked Wiebe’s farmland, and according to Wiebe, “I don't know anybody or any family that works as hard as the Janzen family does. Kelley's an amazing guy—he truly loves the land and understands what it takes.” Janzen’s commitment goes beyond farming; he also coaches hockey, demonstrating an admirable balance between his demanding work and community involvement. "He’s the first guy to work and the last guy to leave," Wiebe added. "He just legitimately cares about what he’s doing.” Both Ira and Kelley are set to attend the Harvest Heroes celebration on November 13th at Smitty’s Lounge.
