Snowfall warning issued for Strathmore

A snowfall warning is in effect for Strathmore.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, the area is expected to get anywhere from 10 to 15 cm throughout the day.

511 says Highway 1 in and out of Strathmore is covered with heavy wet snow and ice.

Staff with the Town of Strathmore say they started clearing the snow at 5 a.m.

The town has four pathway/sidewalk units, three plow trucks, and two graders.

Snow tips from the town:

• Residents should shovel or snow-blow their sidewalks and driveways onto their own properties instead of the road.
• Clear windrows.
• Keep swales and storm drains clear of snow, debris, and ice for drainage.
• Park vehicles in driveways to ensure the town can do snow cleaning.
• Stay up to 10 metres away from snow plows, graders, and sanding trucks.
