The Carstar Okotoks Bisons continue to stampede over their competition with two wins during their road trip this past weekend.

With the two wins, the Herd sits above the Medicine Hat Cubs for the top spot in the HJHL Southern Division as they hold 29 points to the Cubs 26. The two wins came from a 6-3 win over the Airdrie Techmation Thunder and then a 3-1 win over the Rams in Rocky Mountain House.

Assistant captain Adam Kirkpatrick got on the board first with a goal coming in at 17:25 in the first period. Bisons' top point-getter along with leading goal scorer Sam Callahan picked up an assist as well as Joel Burrows.

Ty Russell gave Okotoks a two-goal lead early in the second period with Kirkpatrick and Callahan picking up their second points on the night with assists.

Ben Holden answered for Airdire, but the Bisons didn't falter as they added another three goals in the second period. Zephyr Laplante picked up two goals and team captain Jake Snashall picked up a goal of his own to make it a 5-1 hockey game.

Easton Dean and Snashall picked up points on Laplante's first goal. Dean picked up his second assist of the night on Snashalls' goal, while Laplante also picked up another point on the team captain's second-period marker.
