Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of Western Manitoba, ahead of the arrival of a potent system which could bring substantial snowfall to the region.
Widespread amounts of 5 to 15 cm are likely, with localized accumulations of 20 to 40 cm possible.

Ahead of the snow periods of freezing rain are possible Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Strong winds and blowing snow are also in the mix with 70 to 80 km/h gusts on Tuesday night and Wednesday producing poor visibility in blowing snow.

The areas within the Warning will experience a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow on Tuesday morning. Cooler temperatures will build in through the day, changing the expected precipitation across the region to snow.
The highest snowfall accumulations are expected on the eastern and northeastern sides of larger terrain features such as the western escarpment of the Red River Valley, the Riding Mountains, and Duck Mountains.
