With the Canada Post workers' strike now in full swing, the Government of Alberta is launching a plan to ensure Albertans can still send and receive provincial government mail.

Starting today (Nov. 18), they're opening designated offices to pick up and drop off mail during the work interruption.

Anyone with mail waiting for them will also receive an email telling them where they can pick it up from.

Federal and provincial socio-economic cheques will still be delivered by Canada Post employees once a month during the strike., and those who have signed up for direct deposit will still receive theirs that way.

The Foothills-area offices are:

  • High River - Spitzee Crossing Building (124 - 4 Avenue SW, High River, AB T1V 1M3)
  • Claresholm - Provincial Building (P.O. Box 1650, 109 - 46 Ave. W, Claresholm, AB T0L 0T0)
  • Vulcan - AFSC (104 Centre Street E, Vulcan, AB T0L 2B0)
  • Taber - Provincial Building (5011 - 49 Ave., Taber, AB T1G 1V9)

The full list of locations can be seen on the Government of Alberta website.
