There's been a recall for some organic carrots sold across Canada due to E. coli.
The Government of Canada issued the recall on Monday (Nov. 18).
Compliments and PC organic baby-cut carrots and regular carrots are among the brands recalled.
It's also affected the Cal-Organic and Bunny-Luv.
Affected carrots may appear fine, as E. coli does not cause the carrots to look spoiled or smell.
E. coli causes nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and watery to bloody diarrhea.
Severe cases have been known to cause seizures or strokes, permanent damage to a person's kidneys and possibly death.
Some of the brands affected are:
- Compliments Organic Baby-Cut CarrotsĀ
- 454 g with best before dates from Sept. 14 to Oct. 24
- Compliments Organic Carrots
- 907 g sold from Aug. 14 to Oct. 23
- PC Organics Baby-Cut Carrots

- PC Organics Baby-Cut Carrots

The government of Canada is asking you to throw out any contaminated carrots or return them to where you purchased them.
