The Prairie Players recently delighted audiences with their festive production of 'Dashing Through the Snow', a humorous play that featured four different stories and 17 characters. Directed by seasoned member Rosa Rawlings, the performance was met with laughter and praise.

Rawlings shared her excitement about the play's success, noting that the audience seemed to thoroughly enjoy the show.

"We had a blast putting it on for everyone."

One of the unique aspects of the production was the way the show was structured, with one of the characters 'the inn keeper' appearing in every scene, while the other 16 actors took turns bringing different stories to life.

"It was fun watching the actors develop their characters," Rawlings added, reflecting on the process of bringing the play to life.

While directing isn't Rawlings' primary passion, she prefers performing on stage. She was drawn to this play for its humour and creativity. This marks her fourth or fifth time directing a production for the group, and Rawlings' emphasized how fulfilling it is to see her vision come to life on stage.

Looking ahead, the Prairie Players are already planning their spring production, set for Spring of 2025. While the specific play and director are yet to be determined, there's no shortage of enthusiasm within the group. The close-knit community has been a part of the region for over 55 years, and many members have been with the troupe for decades.

"We just get along so well; it's always a great time."

Stay tuned for more updates from the Prairie Players as they continue to bring their passion for theatre to the local stage.
