SaskAlert, the provincial emergency alert system, will be conducting a test of their services this afternoon.
Scheduled for 1:55 p.m., test alerts will appear on television, radio, wireless devices and through the SaskAlert app.
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency is issuing the test via the federal public alert system, Alert Ready.
The alert that will appear as part of the test will read as follows:
This is a test of the National Public Alerting System by the Government of Canada. No action is required. If this was an actual emergency, you would now have instructions for protecting yourself and your family. For more information, please visit the Alert Ready website.
Testing of the emergency alert system is done regularly to ensure that, in the case of an emergency or disaster, urgent and public safety warnings are sent out to the public in a timely and efficient manner.
