Three Hills RCMP have charged a B.C. woman with fraud over $5,000 after investigating a meat purchasing scam that dates back to December of 2023.

Police say the victim arranged a large meat order with a company named DBL Meats. The company was reported to be based in Kelowna, British Columbia, and was said to provide fresh farm products to customers in Canada.

The 16 victims sent DBL Meats approximately $60,000 CAD through e-transfer for meat products that were not delivered as promised. The investigation has determined DBL Meats is not a legitimate company and had fraudulently obtained money from the victims.

Krysta-Lyn Williams, a 36-year-old female resident of Penticton, British Columbia, has been charged with fraud over $5000, and a warrant for her arrest has been issued.

If you have any knowledge of her whereabouts, contact your local police.

Three Hills RCMP believes there are more victims of this meat scam.

If you have been in contact with DBL Meats, are a victim to this crime, or have information pertaining to this investigation, contact the Three Hills RCMP at 403-443-5539.
