The Portage Terriers have seen excellent production from their squad in the early days of the 2024/25 season, with players appearing in the top five of multiple major stats.

The Dogs have established themselves as a team to watch this season with a record of 16-7, good for second place in both the MGEU East Division and the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) standings. The only team the Terriers are looking up at is the Steinbach Pistons.

Looking at the first few months of the season, the Terriers have the current MJHL points leader in forward Cameron Bullinger. Bullinger has netted himself 32 points, setting nearly a 1.5-point-per-game pace.

He's also tied for first in the MJHL in assists with the Dauphin Kings' Naaman Hofer. forward Nolan Nenow with the Dogs sits in third, just one assist behind at 20.

forward Decker Mujcin has also gotten off to a red-hot start, picking up 14 goals. This ties him for second with Adam Vigfusson of the Niverville Nighthawks.

The Terriers' run hasn't been entirely dictated by their offence, however, as goalies Mitchell Kathler and Ryan Velan have both been solid producers between the pipes. Kathler, only a rookie in the MJHL, finds himself third in goals against average, sitting at 1.91. He also sits fifth in save percentage, with a strong 0.926.

Ryan Velan has a save percentage of .918, meaning either goalie can stifle opponents and seal wins that may have gotten away from the Dogs.

The Terriers will enter a three-game homestand this weekend, starting on Saturday, November 23, against the Dauphin Kings. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
