Worldwide comedian Matt Rife, known for his raunchy humour, has recently opened up about getting baptized and what led to that decision.
The 29-year-old comedian who tours around the world with his comedy recently opened up about his faith on the History Hyenas podcast with Yannis Papas and Chris Distefano.
"I got baptized in August in a dude's pool," said Rife. "I've never been a super religious person, but when my grandpa passed away, something hit me that I was like, 'I'll never see this person again.'"
Rife's grandpa passed away two years ago, and this started his serious consideration of what happens after death, leading to questions about God and Christianity.
The comedian was also very open about his feelings about traditions surrounding God, including attending church on Sunday mornings.
"I hate church; I find it excruciatingly boring," he said. "But I want to believe in God, and it's obviously a huge part of the process."
Rife got the opportunity to work with an actor he's admired for a long time, Owen Wilson.
On social media, Rife said, "An actual dream come true to work with one of my favourite actors of all time God is good."
