The following is the RCMP report to January 1st, 2025. This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

- 23 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)
- 22 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)
- 8 crimes against property
- 7 other criminal code
- 12 crimes against person
- 3 traffic accidents
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks. RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks. You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check.
Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.
Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.
Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.
YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS
Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.

Police received a report of a possible impaired drivers in Ninette. Police followed up with the parties involved. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
December 10, 2024
Police received a report of a theft of truck in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police responded to a call under the mental health act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton.
Police responded to another call under the mental health act in the RM of Brenda-Waskada.
December 11, 2024
Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. While police were on their way, they received an update and were no longer required to attend.
Police received a report of a fraud in Waskada. The matter is under investigation.
Police responded to a call for an assault in Cartwright. A male and a female were both arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
December 12, 2024
Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in the Municipality of Grassland. Police followed up with the complainant and learned the vehicle had since been moved. The matter was concluded.
Police received a report of theft in the RM of Brenda-Waskada. The matter is under investigation.
December 13, 2024
Police received a request for assistance from another organization in Cartwright. While responding police received an update and were no longer required.
Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Boissevain. All parties were located safe.
Police received a report of harassment in Waskada. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a report under the child welfare act in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.
December 14, 2024
Police received a call under the 911 act in Killarney. Police followed up and the matter was concluded.
Police responded to a call under the immigration act at the Lena port of entry. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police responded to a 911 call for an assault in Killarney. Police attempted to speak with the parties involved however the victim declined to proceed with charges.
Police received a report of a breach of peace in Boissevain. Police attended however the complainant was gone on arrival.
December 16, 2024
Police received a report of theft in the RM of Brenda-Waskada. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a report under the liquor act in Deloraine. Members spoke with the parties involved and the matter was concluded.
Police responded to a call for uttering threats in Killarney. Police spoke with the complainant and the matter was deemed unfounded.
December 17, 2024
Police responded to a 911 call under the fire prevention act in Waskada. The fire was not suspicious and there were no injuries.
Police received a report of a suspicious person in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. Police followed up with the complainant who provided additional information, and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of mischief in Deloraine. Police followed up with both parties involved, and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Waskada. Police were able to locate the vehicle and determined it had been reported stolen. Police spoke with the owner of the vehicle who did not want to proceed further with an investigation.
Police received a report of a vehicle that was illegally parked in Killarney. Police attended the location however the vehicle was gone on arrival.
December 18, 2024
Police responded to a 911 call under the customs act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police located the vehicle involved and escorted them back to the port of entry.
Police responded to a call under the mental health act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton.
Police responded to another call under the mental health act in Killarney.
December 19, 2024
Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Baldur. The party involved refused assistance therefor police departed, and the matter was concluded.
December 20, 2024
Police received a report of a fraud in Boissevain. The complainants bank account had been accessed from an unknown person that was able to take a large sum of money. The matter is under investigation.
Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Hartney.
Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Ninette. All parties were located safe.
Police received a report under the family orders and agreements act in Boissevain. Police followed up with all parties involved and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report under the family law act in the RM of Grassland. Police spoke with the complainant and the matter was concluded.
December 22, 2024
Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Police patrolled the area and located the vehicle however there was no driver with the vehicle. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Waskada.
December 24, 2024
Police received a report of a person reported missing in Deloraine. Police were able to locate the person and return them home safely.
Police received a report of trespassing in Hartney. Police followed up with the subject of complaint and issued a warning.
Police responded to a 911 call for an assault in Hartney. A male was arrested and later released on an undertaking to appear in court.
Police responded to a 911 call for another assault in Hartney. A female was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
December 25, 2024
Police responded to a call under the fire prevention act in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. The fire department was on scene and police were not required. The fire was deemed not suspicious.
Police received a report of mischief in Waskada. Police were able to speak with both parties involved, and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of failure to comply with an undertaking in Hartney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
December 26, 2024
Police responded a call under the fire prevention act in Boissevain. There were no injuries, and the fire was determined to be accidental.
Police received a report under the child welfare act in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a report under the family law act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police followed up with the parties involved however the situation was not a police matter and the file was concluded.
Police responded to a 911 hang up call in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. Upon arrival police were able to determine they were not required, and the caller was having phone issues.
Police responded to a call for assistance to another agency in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. Police attended and assisted where needed. A male was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
December 27, 2024
Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Boissevain. All parties were located safe.
Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Waskada. The matter is under investigation.
December 28, 2024
Police completed a traffic stop in the RM of Argyle. A roadside screening device was given to the driver which resulted in a failed reading. An immediate roadside suspension was given to the driver prohibiting driving for 90 days and the vehicle was towed.
Police responded to a call for an assault in Killarney. A male was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
December 29, 2024
Police received a report of failure to comply with an undertaking. The matter is under investigation.
December 30, 2024
Police responded to a call for an assault in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Both a male and a female were arrested, separated and released on undertakings to appear in court at a later date.
Police received a report of uttering threats in the RM of Prairie Lakes. The matter was unfounded.
December 31, 2024
Police received a report of trespassing in the RM of Brenda-Waskada. The complainant was looking for advise only and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report under the liquor act in Killarney. The matter was concluded.

It is important to report ALL thefts, stolen or lost property to police in a timely fashion so that it can be followed up on by police.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know. Due to the many reports of vehicle thefts, the public is reminded to secure parked and unattended vehicles and refrain from leaving valuables in plain view.

Boissevain Detachment business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
