Just weeks after being released from hospital due to a mystery illness, Lauren Chandler is now asking for prayer for her husband Matt as he battles the same symptoms.
Matt Chandler, pastor of The Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas, was hospitalized over the weekend.
"My turn to ask you guys for prayer. Matt was admitted to the hospital in the middle of the night. Same symptoms that I had and still no answers," said Lauren in a post on Instagram. "Thankfully, I am well on the mend and know Matt will be too."
On Monday, Lauren posted an update saying that the doctors may have figured out what is causing Matt's symptoms.
"For those asking, it does seem we might know the culprit. Unfortunately, they didn’t run the same test on me, so it’s hard to know for sure," said Lauren. "Let me assure you that while it was scary to go through (because we weren’t sure what was going on with me in particular), we know that the symptoms eventually expire and, with medical support, recovery is more than possible."
Lauren says they hope that their recent bouts of illness do not cause people to live in fear.
"Our desire in sharing this was to ask for prayer as far and wide as possible," Lauren explained. "If this has stirred up any fear in you, I am so sorry. I pray the Lord would overwhelm you with His peace and that you would keep your mind on Him."
On Monday, Lauren said they had hopes of Matt going home. However, she has not yet updated any further.
