Exciting news for fans of Duck Dynasty. The popular docu-series is being rebooted and will return to screens this summer.
The latest version of this show will be called Duck Dynasty: The Revival and will feature Willie and Korie Robertson and their growing adult children as they pass down their legacy and plan the future of their family business, Duck Commander.
A&E has ordered two seasons of the show, which will mean 20 one-hour episodes.
The original Duck Dynasty aired from 2012 until 2017 and was one of the most-watched nonfiction series in cable history. The show followed the family and business while highlighting their faith.
“The Robertsons earned a seat in homes across the country with their unique brand of downhome practicality, southern charm and relatable humour,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President & Head of Programming, A&E and Lifetime in a statement. “‘Duck Dynasty’ played a huge part of the success of A&E for many years, and we look forward to reuniting with the Robertsons on the revival.”
Phil Robertson, patriarch of the family, will not return to the show.
It was announced in December 2024, that the 78-year-old was dealing with declining health including the early stages of Alzheimer's and a type of blood disease.
"We’ve got a team of doctors, and then we have another set of doctors who are looking at all the tests, and they’re all in agreement that there’s no curing what he has,” said his son Jase in a podcast in 2024.
Duck Dynasty: The Revival is expected to premiere in summer 2025, with a second window on a major streaming service following the conclusion of each season, to be announced.
