At the beginning of February, Fun and Faith is bringing a load of laughs to southern Manitoba, brightening up the harsh landscape that often is prairie winters.
"For us here at Fun and Faith we thoroughly believe in that avenue of investing," says Marco Luciani, staff at Fun and Faith, the ministry that puts on the DateNight Comedy Tour. "For us, one of the greatest things is, you can either be laughing or you can be crying in life. Let's choose the laughter. Creating that DateNight tour, we're saying, bring your loved one, and let's have a great clean night of comedy."
This is the seventh season the DateNight comedy tour has been going, and this year it's the largest one yet. This time comedians Leland Klassen and Andy Beningo will be the entertainment across Canada.
"God talks about choosing joy in life. When you're going through your tough challenges of life, when you can look at your spouse and loved one and laugh your way through it, that's a really healthy spiritual side you can have. That's what Fun and Faith is all about."
Luciani shares that the timing of the tour, shortly after Christmas and in the dead of winter, is purposeful.
"It's so cold and snowy in certain parts. People get some of those winter blues, which is real. For us, having this DateNight tour across Canada, it's very purposeful to go out in this time when people need it the most."
The DateNight tour, clean comedy for couples, is coming to Winkler on Feb. 3 and Winnipeg Feb. 4. Tickets can be purchased here up until the date or until it sells out.
"You're going to get some great content that is not just church focused," says Luciani. "Be enriched and inspired through these comedy pieces. The live game show is such a great unique aspect. It's the funniest when people say things off the cuff and that's usually one of our biggest highlights."
