Another day, another couple of hot chocolates to try!
I have to say, I feel very lucky that so many of these participating businesses are within walking distance of our studio. Both of these businesses are just a short walk in either direction.
The end of the Okotoks Hot Chocolate Festival is coming up fast, so don't wait too long if you're thinking of giving some of these a try.
Stacked by Soul Sugar's Bourbon Buster Hot Chocolate
There's a lot going on with the Bourbon Buster Hot Chocolate from Stacked!
The base drink includes a homemade bourbon caramel sauce (despite the name, it's non-alcoholic, and you can choose to have it without the bourbon caramel sauce if you like).
It comes with a stir stick that's affixed with a chunk of milk, dark, and white chocolate, marshmallows, caramel, and skor bits.
The caramel sauce adds a great bit of warmness to the hot chocolate taste, and once the stir stick is in there and a little melted, the elements mix together to give it a wonderful toffee-ish taste!
The stick is actually a spoon that you can use to scoop up any caramel or chocolate that might be hanging out at the bottom of the cup, which is a great little extra treat at the end.
Supper Studio's Biscoff Hot Chocolate
I was very excited to see a Biscoff-flavoured inclusion in this year's festival!
As the name implies, Supper Studios' Biscoff Hot Chocolate comes with a Biscoff garnish, which is great to dip into the drink.
The hot chocolate itself does have that great gingerbready Biscoff flavour but it's not overwhelming, almost like a Biscoff equivalent of cereal milk.
It's a nostalgic taste, the kind of drink you want to slowly sip with both hands clasped around the cup to really savour it.
If you're interested in trying some of the delicious concoctions, check out the interactive map on the event website.
