Steinbach Bible College (SBC), as well as Red River College and a few healthcare professionals, are offering a course for the public called "Ministry in Healthcare."

"We are excited about this," says Terry Kaufman, a professor at SBC. "When we think about ministry, we often think about church, certainly missions, and sometimes community stuff. But we don't always think about marketplace or workplace, which can and should be ministry. That's something we recognize here at SBC."

The 'Ministry in Healthcare' course runs over four weeks on Thursday evenings starting Mar. 13, 2025.

"One of the areas we see great needs and tremendous ministry opportunity is the area of healthcare. Let's talk about what it means to serve in the healthcare field and recognize that this is ministry."

The course is open to anyone interested in this field, including doctors, nurses, healthcare aids, people who are thinking about going into the medical field, and even caregivers.

"Even if they're not looking at healthcare as a career, so many of us have the opportunity to care for elderly parents, family members, or whatever."

People can sign up by heading over the SBC's website

"The model of Jesus that we have, it shows us so much, the concern for the wellbeing of other people. In the spiritual realm certainly, but also in the physical realm. He showed us that the love of God includes expression of taking care of people physically."
