For people who love concerts, this may be a familiar occurrence. Attending two concerts across the province in as many days was a new experience for me early this week.
I haven't been much of a concert-goer until recently. Sure, I've been to concerts in the past and enjoyed them. However, now that I've started going to more live performances in the last few months, it's a new joy in life that I've discovered.
Sunday was the first in Regina at the Brandt Centre, where Riley Green performed in front of a packed audience along with special guests Ella Langley, Jake Worthington, and Erik Dylan. The show was electric as almost every seat was filled, making it nearly impossible to walk around the concourse. Personally, I could not wait for the duet "You Look Like You Love Me" by Langley and Green. "Worst Way" was another amazing performance, and I would love to see Riley Green live again one day.
Then on Monday, the trek to Saskatoon's TCU Place was worth it for Hailey Benedict and the Johner Brothers to open things up for Scotty McCreery. Benedict had a very personal performance, while the Johner Brothers allowed fans to let loose and laugh. Finally, McCreery had an outstanding show, and I was excited for songs like "Cab in a Solo," "This Is It," and "Five More Minutes." It felt like I was back in 2017, listening to country music videos all over again.
If you attended either of these concerts, I hope you had just as much fun as I did. Let me know what you thought of them on the South Country Equipment Country Connection at 306-694-1007. After the smoke has settled from the back-to-back concerts, it was totally worth it, and now I'm going to enjoy a much-needed nap.
