Carnie's Comments

We're not exactly close friends but I know him well enough to tell you he's a warm and gentle fella. He's polite and very kind and very grateful to still be with us today.

Tyler Lister is a Moose Jaw guy who took a life-saving flight in a STARS helicopter from Moose Jaw to Regina to get the specialized care he needed as he battled to breathe due to pneumonia.

Once he arrived his condition took a terrible turn. Tyler went into respiratory failure and septic shock. Doctors drained four litres of fluid from one lung alone. After five days in ICU, he had emergency surgery to remove part of his intestine that had been damaged due to reduced blood flow.

Today, Tyler is back to his normal, smiling self, thanks, in large part, to STARS.

His mom, Lisa, says "Not all heroes wear capes. Our heroes wear flight suits."
