It's Throwback Thursday - just a minute to remember the good old days.

I got my first pedal bike when I was 7 years old. It was a CCM two-speed. I loved that thing but, like the other kids in the 70s, I just had to have a 10-speed. I went through a few of those and then, in the late 80s, it was time for a mountain bike. I got a good one from my friends at Boh's Cycle and Sporting Goods.

A few years later, I got off my wallet and purchased what was an ultra-light, Norco Pinnacle. That was back around 1995, as I recall.

I still have that bike although, I haven't been on it much lately. You see, the original tires were worn right out.

So, I took the bike to Boh's last week to get some new rubber. I thought I might be ridiculed for wanting to freshen up an old bicycle but that did not happen.

In fact, the owner of the shop told me my bike is "a classic" and it's in great shape.

I think I'll ride it this summer and see if I can get in better shape.
