Welcome to another Made in Manitoba, as we look ahead to Easter next weekend, with Palm Sunday this weekend marking the start of Holy Week. And with the season in mind, we're going back in time to feature the Altona Bergthaler Quartet. The group, through various members, had a decades long recording and performing career singing the Good News and sharing the Word of God.

After a conversation over coffee, a friend of one of the member's dropped by the radio station to encourage us to play some of the music from one of the Quartet's albums which was released almost 30 years ago. That album was "Wonderful Words of Life" and included the song "The Three Nails", which resonates perfectly with this being Palm Sunday weekend.

So, after we had the friend drop by with the music, we reached out to Altona Bergthaler Quartet members George Wiebe, Art Froese and Edgar Loeppky to join us in studio to talk about their time singing together and the music from "Wonderful Words of Life". We also want to recognize original Quartet member, the late Bernie Braun, as well as soloist Milly Klassen and Anne Friesen on piano accompaniment, who also both appeared on the album.

We are very excited to have the three gents with us, who performed together hundreds of times over the years, and tonight they are reflecting on the fellowship and experiences they had.

It's the Altona Bergthaler Quarter on Made in Manitoba (which by the way, the Eagle 93.5's Jayme Giesbrecht opened for a number of times in the past).
