A contestant from American Idol who did not make the top 24 is using her newfound platform to spread God's blessings.

Riley's journey on the show came to an end this week following a duet performance of Brandon Lake's 'Gratitude' alongside her fellow contestant Breanna.

Jelly Roll, artist in residence this season, surprised the girls with a video chat with Brandon Lake, who watched the entire performance.

"That was the most gorgeous version of "Gratitude" I have ever heard. My goodness. I am honoured," said Lake.

Although her time on the show is done, Riley remains humbled by the experience.

"Such an honor getting to worship Jesus on this show. God will get His glory," said Riley. "I felt God call me to come on this show to glorify Him, and through all of my fear, I took that step of faith. My Jesus is so kind to me, and I will continue to sing of Him and His goodness."

She says it was an honour to usher people into the presence of God on national television, something she shared more deeply about on her Instagram.

"I felt the Lord tug on my heart to come on here and just share the goodness of God that I've experienced in my own life," said Riley in a video she posted. "A little bit about me, I dealt with drug addiction from an early age and severe depression, anxiety and all this stuff. I found Jesus in 2017, and he set me free from all those things."

Riley says she is now seven years sober and enjoying every day of her new life.

"I just want to tell the world it's Jesus that you're looking for in drugs. As someone who tried it all, it's Jesus, you're not going to find it anywhere else," said Riley. "I don't know how I could do my life without him. If you're dealing with depression, anxiety or addictions of any sort, find Jesus. God has been so good to me."

As for her music career, Riley says she will release songs related to her faith journey soon.
