From being the Pink Power Ranger to starring in dozens of Hallmark movies, Erin Cahill is in the midst of a 20-year career that includes her latest project, Journey to You

"My family said I cried and died for the first 15 years of my career," Cahill said. "Then I fell into Hallmark. For the last eight years, I've been telling stories about love, hope and faith. And so I don't know how I ended up in this magical world, but I'm so grateful."

Cahill said that landing the first Hallmark movie was unexpected. "I auditioned for a thriller and I had just come from a funeral. I wasn't sure I was going to make it, and they waited for me and I happened to be right down the street. Even though it was a thriller and I didn't get that one, they called up and said 'I think you'd be good for this Christmas movie' and I was like, 'Sure, how did that happen?'"

Cahill's latest project, Journey to You, follows the story of Monica after missing out on a promotion. She reluctantly walks the Camino de Santiago at the urging of her mother and is surprised to find inner peace and an unexpected romance along the way.

After starring in several films, Cahill says the script for Journey to You is so divine. "I'm such a big fan of the word divine and the belief behind it. There's a series of magical divine things. The morning I got it, I had just said to two friends 'Let's meet up in Spain.' I've always wanted to go to Spain. It's calling on my heart, literally. And then that evening I got the offer and I just looked up and started to tear up."

Having the experience of filming in Spain was a pinch-me moment for Cahill. "I don't know how to express my gratitude enough. It was so beautiful. The people of Spain are just these big giant hearts and I speak a little bit of Spanish, but they're just so community-driven."

Besides being a lifelong dream, Cahill loves the faith element. "It's really about the internal journey you go on because I believe that you get more connected to divinity the more connected you are to yourself and the more you get out of your way so that that can all work. I love the double entendre of journey to you being, journey to the internal you, journey to you, the divine journey to love, to you."

After watching the movie, Cahill hopes that viewers walk away with a specific reminder. "My dad always says this quote, 'If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.' The message of this movie is about following the path in front of you. With faith and letting go. I hope people feel more connected to themselves their beliefs, and to the divine."

Journey to You premieres Saturday, April 19, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, streaming the next day on Hallmark+.
