Canadian Tire in Portage is hosting a Customer Appreciation Event on Friday, April 11th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM to say thank you to all those who have supported them over the last year!
“We’ve got some fantastic deals on some of our best products- we’ve actually dropped the prices even lower,” says owner Dave Fraser. “We’re going to have free coffee and 99-cent water bottle refills, which is the lowest we’ve ever had them. We’ve got Pokémon card door crashers, some balloons to pop, a Putt and Win, and lots of opportunities to win prizes and cash in on savings.”

Year-round features include the Party City and toy sections, as well as an electronics section that is regularly updated to keep up with market trends. The company is also proud to have upgraded to electronic shelf labels, as well as product QR codes for items that are too large to display in-store.
“You can actually scan and buy, and we’ll go get it for you and bring it over to your car a little quicker than we normally would have.”
This is also a good opportunity for customers to witness current changes within the store, as the shift from winter gear to spring selection has filled the store with trampolines, sports items, bicycles and accessories, and loads of landscaping and gardening supplies.
As for star items, Fraser notes the popular Ninja SLUSHi is in high demand.
“It’s been a super popular thing that has been stocked out for a long time at Canadian Tire. I’ve got 25 of them right now, and we’re fortunate to have so many, but I’m sure they’re going to go quick.”
The seasonal shift is also seen in the automotive department, where their service team is seeing the tire change appointment bookings roll in. Fraser shares that the team is doing great work, and that clients can even get Canadian Tire money back on their automotive purchases.
With international turmoil leading local shoppers to look for Canadian companies to support, Canadian Tire is proud to be as Canadian as it gets. Not only is it in the name, but the company has been a fixture in the Canadian market for decades, providing market goods for home, hobby, and garden while also supporting local initiatives within their communities.
